Win for Kids Health Raffle

The Cowichan District Hospital is proud to partner with Queen Margaret’s School on an inspiring community initiative that brings together education, mentorship, innovation, and philanthropy, all in support of children and families across the Cowichan Valley.

Through the Classics for Kids program, students at Queen Margaret’s School are gaining valuable hands-on experience restoring a classic 1940 Ford Coupe under the guidance of skilled mentors and automotive enthusiasts. Once complete, this beautifully restored vehicle will be raffled by the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, with all proceeds supporting paediatric care in the Cowichan Valley.

Funds raised through this exciting initiative will directly support children’s health and help equip Quw’utsun Valley Hospital with critical, life-saving medical equipment for maternity and paediatric care. Equipment such as an anaesthesia machine, ventilators, phototherapy lights, fetal monitors, ultrasounds, electric birthing beds, and incubators, will help ensure families in our region have access to exceptional healthcare close to home for generations to come.

This iconic 1940 Ford 2-door coupe, created in collaboration with Queen Margaret’s School Classics for Kids program, combines classic styling with modern performance. Powered by a 500HP LS3 Corvette engine and responsive automatic transmission, it features coil-over suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and performance tires. Finished in a stunning metallic Blue Jean paint, this coupe is a striking tribute to classic hot rodding—timeless, powerful, and truly one of a kind.

 

This project represents far more than the restoration of a classic vehicle. It is an investment in our youth, our healthcare system, and the future of our community. Students are developing practical skills, teamwork, confidence, and pride through a meaningful project that demonstrates the power of giving back and community collaboration.
