2023 Champagne Dinner & Auction

We were so pleased to host our Champagne Dinner & Auction on April 22 at Shawnigan Lake School. It was an incredible evening dedicated to Cowichan healthcare.

Thank you to everyone who helped support our event, including guests, sponsors, suppliers, vendors, volunteers, staff and students at the beautiful venue, and everyone who kindly donated items to our auctions. This event wouldn’t be possible without so many generous community members coming together in support of this important cause.

We are very proud to share that, together, we raised $260,000 net in support of purchasing much needed equipment for Cowichan District Hospital and Cairnsmore Place, as well as dedicating a portion of the funds to the new hospital. Thank you for investing in Cowichan healthcare!

Learn More About the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation

Since 1984, the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation has raised over $22 Million in support of critical medical equipment for the Cowichan District Hospital and Cairnsmore Place. We achieve this through donations, fundraising events, sponsorships, 50/50 raffles, and more. The generosity of our donors helps bring world-class equipment to our area, which can help reduce wait times, improve patient experience and outcomes, and allow for more patients to be cared for in their home community.

Together, We Did It!

Over $500,000 Raised for 3D Mammography Equipment for Cowichan

The Cowichan District Hospital Foundation is very pleased to announce that over $500,000 has been raised to purchase new advanced mammography equipment for Cowichan District Hospital. This state-of-the-art equipment will be the first of its kind on Vancouver Island and will help thousands of families, as early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer. Together, with support from over 780 individuals and organizations, the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation reached and surpassed its goal.

Jerry Doman, Board Chair of the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation shared that, “Thanks to our generous community, we have exceeded our $450,000 goal for the mammography equipment. We’re thankful to all the individuals, families and organizations that supported this campaign. The additional funds that were raised will be used towards our next project for highest priority needs at Cowichan District Hospital and Cairnsmore Place.”

The new 3D Mammography equipment will be arriving in April for installation. Once staff training is complete, the new equipment will be available for patient use at the end of April at Cowichan District Hospital.

“On behalf of everyone at the Cowichan District Hospital and the Foundation, thank you Cowichan for investing in local healthcare. Your donations make a real difference for the community.” – Tracey Brown, Interim Executive Director, Cowichan District Hospital Foundation.
